IT's a TREASURE HUNT of sorts

It all started in the most unexpected way — with an impending funeral to attend and a (non-vegan) birthday cake the size of a coffee table.

My uncle’s funeral was to be one of those gatherings where tears and laughter trip over each other. As family from all over the US gather to tell stories that will make us cry until we laugh, and laugh until we cry again. 

…And just a week later, my grandmother turns 100 — a forgettable milestone (because she lives with Alzheimer's). I imagined she’d celebrate by blowing out her candles with the force of a hurricane and declaring, 

“si todavía estás respirando, todavía estás viviendo

 — ¡así que ve a algún lugar!”                                                                                          (“If you’re still breathing, you’re still living

 — so go somewhere!”)

Somewhere. That word stuck.

Somewhere became everywhere.

So, in the strange alchemy of grief and joy, I decided to pack my car, a few dogs, my tiny camper- trailer, grab a playlist & “survival snacks” that could survive 3,000 miles, and set off on what I now call:

 the Happiness Accountability Trajectory Tour. 

The mission? 

To collect moments — not souvenirs. To stop in small towns for pie, to dance at gas stations, to “hug” strangers through arts-n-crafts, to find out what ignites happiness and well-being in others and to send postcards to Grandma from every state, each signed: Still breathing. Still living.

It turns out, happiness isn’t a destination.

 It’s a road trip!
